How To Protect Your Child From Predators During The Holidays
Child predators work overtime during the holidays... recent USA webinar replay
Hi, Penny Marie here… last week a few of us from the Let Kids Be Kids team, tuned into this live webinar that was run in the USA/Canada. To watch the replay click on the image above or go HERE. All views expressed in this webinar and below are the opinion of Nadine Ness. Our intention is to share and inform on this confronting issue, and at all times, to protect the innocence of our children.
Child predators work overtime during the holidays...
...and so that means parents must, as well. Watch the webinar featuring former Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officer, Nadine Ness, a child abuse prevention and intervention specialist, and also the founder of Grassroots United. Nadine explains the stages of grooming and gives indicators that your own child may be a target of abuse and what to about it.
Stages of Grooming
Prepare self to qualify for and fill positions with access to and be trusted by children and families (i.e., church leadership, education, law enforcement, extra-curricular activities, etc.)
Carefully identify a target for abuse
Build trust with both the target and the parent(s) by filling unmet needs for both
Create an opportunity to get close to the target and family
Increase the acceptance of physical touch (i.e., touching the child in front of the parents)
Start treating the child as though s/he is older and can make more adult decisions
Introduce pornographic material
Normalise sexual behavior ("everyone does this") with the assertion that pleasure and consent are the same thing
Watch for "pleasure-based sex education"
