Let Kids Be Kids is a parent support network that was formed following a speech that Penny Marie gave to her son's school Board of Trustees in May 2023. She spoke out because of her concern about the Ministry of Education’s Relationship & Sexuality Guidelines (RSE) and the single (intense) narrative on vaccinations. Both of these being important areas of our children’s lives where parents should have full information and 100% choice over decisions.
The video of Penny’s speech went viral throughout New Zealand, and overseas (which resulted in her being invited on a Greek podcast - a fascinating conversation ensued - have a listen).
How Let Kids Be Kids came to be
Since June 2023, Penny has been contacted by parents, grandparents and people within the education system who have reached out - who were feeling alone and deeply concerned. A wonderful woman called Karen in Wellington had, a few months prior, felt to create the Let Kids Be Kids logo. When she saw Penny’s efforts, she offered the logo to her.
Penny had recently commenced her new venture as an independent journalist… so with her skillset, she ventured the concept to some in the parent network that was developing. And so… Let Kids Be Kids was born.
The current situation
Each day, more people are becoming aware of the situation we are currently in, where a politically charged, harmful agenda is being implemented - and our children are the ultimate target. The hottest topic at the moment is the gender ideology and sexualisation of our children through the education system.
The more we look, the more we see that the 'system' is against the rights of parents and families, and the goal is to harm vulnerable children and teens, and create medical/pharmaceutical clients for life, whilst lowering the populations’ ability to pro-create. It's a tough truth to bare.
Solutions focused
The solution lies in 'we the people'. Deep down we know how to be loving, protect and nurture our children, it is innate in us. What many of us struggle to do, is find our voices and stand up to bullies. The real bullies. The ones who tell us what to do and how to think, and what they want our children to learn in school.
It's time to take our authority back. Lovingly, with grace and truth, yet firmly. We will not be railroaded out of our children's lives. We will not let the 'state' raise our children. We will not agree with harmful legislation that removes parental rights and gives people who do not know us, or our families the right to confuse, coerce, harm and medicate our children.
