The fact that Wakatipu High is using the ‘Real Sex Talk’ videos is a definite red flag. I analysed one of these videos in my article, ‘What Hutt Valley High School is teaching kids about sex’ (which was published by Plain Sight and Resist Gender Education):

These videos teach kids that feeling uncomfortable with rigid gender roles is a sign of being transgender, and potentially needing hormones and surgeries. It’s very unhealthy.

Good on you Rodney for taking the time to find out what your school is really teaching kids as part of RSE. I hope more parents do the same.

For readers who are wondering whether there's really anything to be concerned about, I recommend looking at the teaching materials used by Hutt Valley High School and making up your own mind. You can find a link to the full slides used by HVHS at the end of the article I've linked above.

Shocking but not shocked also. I've been highly concerned about sexuality norms and the impact on our children since I worked with youth 10 plus years ago. This material is totally unacceptable and bordering on abuse. When has it ever been acceptable for a grown man to talk about these topics to 13 year old children? It infuriates me to think that people feel entitled to create this disgusting content to teach to my children - like they are the experts and my families views of sex and gender are wrong... everywhere I look there are examples of the boundaries between children and adults being broken down. Thank you Let Kids be Kids - would you consider coming to the North Island for a roadshow?
