Does the Government respect parents as parents? Do they respect that our children are ours?
We're back for our final in-studio chat for 2024, and we're raising some questions about the recent Education Review Office (ERO) Review of Relationships & Sexuality Education.
Specifically, we question whether the report is NEUTRAL. We ask “What is ‘EDUCATION?’'“ Is the current ‘Relationships & Sexuality Education curriculum ‘education’, or is it something else?
Comparison of NZ Govt review of sexuality education with parent findings
Presented in this video is the culmination of some research and analysis Let Kids Be Kids has done over the last 18 months, compared with what is presented in the recent ERO report.
Watch the video below - it includes some of the wonderful parents in our NZ-wide Let Kids Be Kids network, and an extra special surprise guest who dialled in to wish us all a very Merry Christmas)!
We’ll let this video speak for itself. Below are timestamps and links to the information we discuss.
Spotlight on ‘Navigating The Journey’
Navigating The Journey is the most prevalent ‘Relationships & Sexuality Education’ programme, which is found in up to 50% of NZ schools in some shape or form.
Navigating The Journey is developed by Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa, which is the re-branded ‘Family Planning Association’.
