2. All the names are gender neutral, could refer to a boy or a girl.

3. Ableism = discrimination against disabled people. I am all for giving everyone a chance to participate but there is not need to ruin regular sports for the majority of people for example just to accommodate a physically disabled person in wheelchair or a mentally ill person with gender dysphoria. There has to be an acknowledgement of reality. Not trying to bend everyone else around who you wish things were.

4. Courage is a Habit - They say SEL is a trojan horse for marxist critical race theory etc.

I tried to read all of it but.... no wonder the world appears to have gone insane if this is what we are teaching. My answers as follows :

Reading x 3

Writing x 1

Maths x 9

Inclusion x 39

Identity x 24

Wellbeing x 35

Culture x 29

Family x 15

Whanau x 46

Most of the characters don't have names but are predominantly maori and pacifica. My family is a fruit salad so don't anyone accuse me of being racist.

Ableism - new to me so I looked it up - why didn't they just say discrimination or flipping reality.

It shows a lack of understanding, provides barriers and unattainable outcomes - just wrong

US organisation is Courage is a Habit.

I checked out the cards - are they from 1920 or something. Why is one headed Inspiration Porn?

Great if you what to know how to put up barriers and not much about problem solving.

Fuck me! Theres a shit load of labelling, segregating and namby pamby crap. Vomit inducing.

I live in New Zealand - to live in NZ you have to speak english (although the five ladies I had looking for work last week didn't speak one word of it). We should learn about other cultures in social studies and if you want to speak another language it should be taught within your family/community. Nobody should be discriminated against and life has challenges, but this is not the way to move forward. I retire about the same time as most of our grandchildren start school

perhaps I need to rethink how to best spend my time. Home schooling sounds more attractive with every read. Keep up the great work PLEASE

Isn't it HORRIFIC? We felt to do something different here but inviting our readers to look for themselves at how many buzzwords were in the last Education Gazette. It totally floored us :( You've won some LKBK bumper stickers for your efforts! We have your email address Wendy, so will be in touch!
